Who knows, maybe the Basilisk... - guided hiking tour in italy-alpigraie-canavese

Tour Details

Description

A guided loop hike through Valle Sacra, in the Canavese area of the Graian Alps, where the landscape is woven together with old local folklore. Along the trail we trace the legend of the Basilisco, the fearsome creature said to be born from a rooster's egg and kept alive in the stories of this territory. This is a full-day outing covering 15 km and 780 m of elevation gain, rated moderate, so a reasonable level of fitness is expected. The route crosses panoramic ridgelines, alpine meadows, and mountain trail, reaching a maximum elevation of 1,490 m, with wide views opening up across the valley as we climb. Bring a packed lunch, since there are no stops along the way to resupply. Dogs allowed, maximum two, on lead, throughout the full 15 km of the route.
