Description
Arriving in the late afternoon and parking at one of the Dolomites’ most iconic mountain passes, the Passo Giau, we’ll set off from this wonderful spot and head towards a peak that will allow us to enjoy the surrounding landscape even more! Setting off from the car park at Rifugio Fedare, we’ll follow trail number 463, which starts off as an easy mule track. After reaching the grassy saddle – with panoramic views all around us – we’ll continue along a narrower path leading towards Monte Pore, climbing up the ridge to the summit, walking over scree in places. The return journey will follow the same route; take care to walk at a steady pace and use headlamps if necessary. The hike is classified as ‘easy’ as it is neither long nor demanding, but bear in mind that the ascent and descent will take place from late afternoon onwards. The total elevation gain is approximately 500 metres gain of elevation and the hike is 6 km long.
