This is solid rock climbing for those with alpine walking experience and maybe some via ferrata under their belts.
The route follows a ridge to the pointed summit of Fensterle Turm in the Rosengarten Massiv. We take the cable car up, then walk about an hour to the base. A short via ferrata section leads to where we rope up for the climb to the top.
From the summit, we take in the view and rest before rappelling down past the Fensterle—the window formation that gives this tower its name.
On the walk back to the cable car, we stop at a mountain hut for drinks and a snack. From there, you can look back at what you've just climbed.
A full day that covers good ground in the mountains.
