Tour Details

Description

Escape the everyday for four days of snowshoeing around Bivio, in the pristine Val Surses region of Switzerland. Guided along carefully chosen routes away from the beaten track, you will take the time to slow down, breathe deeply, and enjoy the snow. The meeting point is the hotel in Bivio at 12:15. On day one, after dropping off our luggage, we set off for a first hike in the afternoon — an opportunity to learn or refresh your skills with the avalanche transceiver — and return to the hotel late in the day. On day two, after breakfast, we depart for the summit overlooking Bivio, from where we enjoy a superb view of the entire region. On day three we hike to the end of the Val Surses, where a new summit opens a new 360° view. On the final day, a short but magnificent hike lets us fully enjoy the region before heading back in the afternoon. After each day's effort, the evening is spent at the comfortable hotel in Bivio, ideal for unwinding and enjoying a delicious meal. Half-board is included for three nights, in a twin/double room. This tour is for hikers who enjoy an active day of snowshoeing over four days, so a good level of physical fitness is required. Technical difficulty: 2/5. Physical difficulty: 3/5 to 4/5. The group is limited to 6 people. An avalanche transceiver, probe and shovel are required for this tour. You can rent this equipment from me depending on available stock.
