Description
An afternoon hike through the high hamlets of Noasca to reach the cascade of the Roc waterfall, tucked into the valleys of Gran Paradiso. This easy walk winds through steep-roofed stone buildings and cultivated terraces where generations worked the alpine slopes before the national park came into being. A journey through local history and nature to sense the energy of the water, then into a cool beech forest that shelters many of the park's animal species. The path follows the Roc Valley as it narrows. The sound of running water grows louder with each turn. Beech branches filter the light above while the forest floor stays damp and sheltered, creating conditions where chamois, ibex, and smaller creatures move through undisturbed. The waterfall spills over dark rock in a single continuous sheet, the spray cooling the air within twenty meters of its base.

Itinerary
- Roc Valley and Waterfall Hike -
We start from our meeting point and head into the Roc Valley, following well-marked trails through alpine meadows and forests. The route takes us deeper into Gran Paradiso territory, where we encounter the valley's main waterfall. We spend time exploring the area around the cascade, enjoying the spray and the sound of rushing water. After taking in the scenery and perhaps an afternoon snack, we retrace our steps back to the starting point trough a different path across the forest.
