My formal pathway to guiding grew out of my desire to support delivery of field courses in Earth and Environmental Sciences and reflects my interest in developing technical skills. I continue to combine my skills in operating in the hill and mountain environment with scientific fieldwork as a consultant. Hills of Hame has always been focused on helping people to gain confidence and develop the skills to be confident and independent in the upland environments of Britain and Ireland. To this end I am able to call on my diverse skills. qualifications and knowledge in natural history, navigation, fell-running, adult education and outdoor first-aid.
